These rolled cookies are easy to make and you may commemorate any event by cutting the shape of cookie appropriate to the occasion. For Hanukkah, pastry chef Jennifer Millar selects dreidels (tops) and kiddush cups. But reindeer and stars would work well too.
Beat the softened butter with the confectioner´ s sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and then the flour and salt and mix on low speed until blended. Wrap and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight.
