Bakehouse Pecan Blondies

Charlie Frank, the creator of this recipe, arrived unannounced at the bakery in August 2001, sort of looking for a job. We didn’t have an opening and Charlie wasn’t sure he wanted a job, but neither of us was too concerned about that, so we sat and talked.

We try to speak with anyone who approaches us at the bakery on their own, not responding to a job posting, because it is often the sign of someone who really fits.
