Baking Powder Gugelhupf, also Called Health Cake

Like a pound cake, this cake with a funny name is both delicious and easy to prepare When we used to bake this in classes, students referred to it as “sneeze cake” because gesundheit is part of its name. Actually, Gesundheit means “health” in German, and here it probably referred to the fact that this plain cake is easy to digest. Unfortunately, nowadays we no longer consider cake health food—changing times even change our attitudes toward cake!
