Sweet Cheese Purses

The name of these pastries may come from the fact that they were traditionally prepared during the eighth month, Sh’aban in Arabic. The name also refers to a purse or backpack. The recipe comes from my friend and associate Andrea Tutunjian. Her father, John Tutunjian, provided the interpretations of the Arabic name.
