Very striking designs can be made with simple, graphic patterns of sweets and chocolates. Here, the colour palette has been limited to give more impact. Children, especially, will love to create their own designs.
Turn the cake upside down and split in half horizontally. Spread most of the lime buttercream over the cut surface and place the other cake on top so the flat base becomes the top. Spread a very thin layer of the remaining buttercream around the sides (this will help the sugarpaste stick to the cake).
