Method

  1. Combine the raisins, rum, and simple syrup. Let the raisins marinate for 24 hours at room temperature.
  2. The same day you start the raisins, follow the vanilla ice cream recipe but substitute 1 tsp/5 mL vanilla extract for the vanilla bean. Cover and refrigerate the base for a minimum of 12 hours, or overnight.
