Holiday Butter Cookies

• 1 recipe basic butter cookie dough made with ½ cup more flour

Pound the dough to flatten it and roll it into a 13 by 17-inch rectangle (the size of a standard sheet pan), ⅛ to ¼ inch thick. Roll it between parchment paper or waxed paper to avoid dusting it with flour and
