  • About

Luchis are a kind of fried bread specially loved in Bengal even though we are primarily rice eaters. In northern India a similar bread is known by the name of puri. The main difference between the luchi and the puri is that the former is made out of the finest white flour while puris are made with coarser whole wheat flour. In feudal households of the last century luchis were often served with savoury vegetables during afternoon tea. In appearance a luchi is a round golden disk, 12.5-15 cm
