This sweet pie is always served during the Easter holidays. The crunchy base and aromatic, rustic, chunky filling made of cooked wheat, ricotta and candied fruit makes it well loved, so much so that many versions have been created as families have started experimenting with their own recipes. For that reason, I fell in love with this savoury version with Italian cheese and British asparagus.
