This is definitely a breakfast fit for company! Conveniently, it’s best when made the night before, so the bread can soak up the liquid. You might be tempted to lift away the individual bread slices when serving, but it’s easier to cut it into squares. Make sure your platter has sides so the syrupy liquid stays contained.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup

Method

Line a 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick aluminum foil or with foil lightly greased with butter.

Combine brown sugar, melted butter, and syrup in a small bowl, stirring until well blended. Pour brown sugar mixture into bottom of prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with blueberries. Slice bread into 16 (1-inch) slices; arrange over brown sugar mixture, overlapping to fit.
