I like using dried blueberries in this simple cookie when I need a shelf-stable treat that will keep for a few days in an airtight container. Fresh berries certainly work and provide an interesting, lumpy texture, but cookies made with fresh berries should be refrigerated. For a toothier cookie, stir in ½ cup quick-cooking oats.
