I’ve known my friend Lynne Weems Ryan since college, when her roommates were always lucky if she was sharing samples of her amazing dishes. Lynne tosses crispy chicken wings in her spicy-sweet sauce but also recommends serving it with grilled chicken or pork chops.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon safflower oil
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minc

Method

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook 2 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add garlic and jalapeño; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in coffee. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes.

Stir in blueberries, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, and molasses. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes until redu
