Using readymade pesto sauce means that this scrumptious bread is very easy to make. Use a good-quality sauce — or, if you have the time, make your own — so that the flavours of garlic, basil, pine nuts and Parmesan cheese can be clearly discerned.

Ingredients

  • 140 ml/5 fl oz/ cup milk
  • 150 ml

Method

  1. Remove the milk from the refrigerator 30 minutes before using, to bring it to room temperature. Pour the water, milk and extra virgin olive oil into the bread machine pan. If the instructions for your bread machine specify that the yeast is to be placed in the pan first, then simply reverse the order in which you add the liquid and dry ingredients.
