The unmistakable, mouthwatering flavour of golden fried onions is captured in this coburg-shaped bread. Serve with soup, cheeses or salad.
Melt the butter in a frying pan and sauté the onions over a low heat until golden. Remove the pan from the heat and let the onions cool slightly. Place a sieve over the bread machine pan, then tip the contents of the frying pan into it, so that the juices fall into the pan. Set the onions aside to cool completely.
