Juicy raisins, plumped up with dark rum, flavour this tea-time loaf. Serve just as it is or lightly toasted, with butter.

  1. Place the raisins and rum in a small bowl and leave to soak for 2 hours. Drain any remaining liquid into the bread machine pan. Add the egg and milk. If necessary for your machine, reverse the order in which you add the liquid and dry ingredients.
