There are these specific donuts that I have only ever been able to find in Hong Kong. They were light and fluffy, very pale, and had a spongier texture than most donuts. They came coated in sugar and were filled with a surprise—usually a piece of banana or red bean paste. I had to use the Google machine to figure out what they are even called. Hong Kong sugar puffs is what I found out, but it still doesn’t quite match my memory. So, I made my own version, in cruller form, glazed with flavor
