Sachima is a sweet snack originating from Manchuria made from deep-fried strips of fluffy dough held together with a sugar syrup, reminiscent of a Rice Krispies treat. The first time I had one was as a child. I recall seeing plates of them going past me on carts at dim sum and asking my parents what they were and could I have one? They are sweet and sticky, crunchy and chewy all at the same time. Every time we went to dim sum after that day, I kept my eyes peeled. Sadly, I haven’t seen them
