Add herbs and spices to mead and you’ll be making the ancient booze called metheglin. The imbibing of this style of mead was believed to have medicinal benefits, but who hasn’t used that old excuse? We’ve used a cornucopia of Christmassy spices in our festively flavoursome version, along with some punchy allotment-sourced herbs for good measure. Just don’t use it as a post-Christmas hangover cure.
