Cucumber Raita

A super simple recipe for this classic Asian accompaniment. Raita goes perfectly with curries and koftas, or simply dip into it with warm pitta bread for a tasty snack. You can make this with or without the chillies, but I like my raita to have some heat.


  • ¼cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 250 g Greek yoghurt
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander


The only prep here is the chopping! Mix the cucumber, onion and chillies together with the yoghurt and salt. Stir in the coriander and you’re done. This can be made a day ahead and refrigerated until you need it.
