Here’s a really easy recipe that everyone will enjoy making. Instead of flour, the mixture contains cornflakes, so children can have fun crushing them and stirring the ingredients together. It is packed with fruity flavours too, from mincemeat to soft ready-to-eat figs.

Ingredients

  • butter, for greasing
  • 450 g/1 lb/ cups mincemeat<

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C/300°F/Gas 2. Grease and line the base and sides of a 25cm/10in round cake tin (pan) with baking parchment.
  2. Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and beat together well. Spoon into the prepared tin and smooth the top level.
