Loaded with flavor, this bean side dish can be served as a main dish too. Feel free to substitute other types of beans, such as dark or light kidney beans, cannellini beans, or Great Northern beans.

Prep at Home

Slice sausage and chop onion, bell pepper, and garlic; place in a plastic storage container in the refrigerator. (Apples are best cut at camp because they brown.)

Prepare a charcoal or gas grill or assemble a camp cookstove.
