Hanging a pot of simmering wassail over an open fire is a cheerful way to spend a chilly evening with friends at camp or even in the backyard. Use an enamel pot or a very well-seasoned cast-iron oven (not a new one) to avoid stripping off the light seasoning and creating an off flavor.
