Spoon a few pieces of syrupy fruit onto a cheese plate, or open up a few jars and mix them with shredded fresh apple for a quick, meatless mincemeat filling. Experiment with different combinations of dried fruits—raisins, prunes, apricots, peaches, nectarines, pineapple (low-sugar, if possible), guava, papaya, mangoes . . .
