I love pairing a salad with a pie – it gives the relief that is often needed, and the freshness of the buttermilk dressing amplifies it even more. It’s also really simple!
In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, crème fraîche, balsamic and olive oil and season with a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Separate the lettuce into leaves and toss with the watercress. Sprinkle over the sea salt, then dress with the buttermilk dressing.
