Knowing how to make a good meat stew with wine is one skill every chefs needs in their locker. This type of stew is not as common as it used to be on fine dining menus but smaller versions are still used on tasting menus and knowing how this should taste is important. A good pub menu is always bolstered by a classic stew and the beef can be swapped for lamb as well.
