Method

The batavia is chopped and the following dressing is poured over it just before serving: A clove of garlic, 1 tomato, ½ teaspoonful of pepper and the same of cumin are all pounded in a mortar, 3 tablespoons of oil, 1½ of vinegar being added gradually.
