Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of groats
  • 3 apples
  • 2 or 3 tablespoons

Method

Put the groats in cold water, bring to the boil and, when soft, put on a sieve, and pour cold water over them. Put them in a saucepan with the chopped apples, lemon peel, cinnamon, 1 lump of sugar, and cover with just under 1 quart of boiling water. Simmer till tender, then rub through
