Work ½ a pint of flour with 1 whole egg, a ½ oz. of yeast dissolved in ½ a cup of warm milk, and a good pinch of salt. Let stand in a warm place to rise. Roll out to a thickness of about 1 inch, put on a buttered baking tin, and bake to a light golden brown. When cold, cut in strips, put these on a hot baking tin, and put in the oven to brown the other side. When cold, coat with vanilla icing.
