Pea Soup and Boiled Pickled Pork

Method

Put 1 cupful of yellow peas, previously soaked for 12 hours, in 4 quarts of cold water, with a pinch of soda. Bring to the boil and add 1 lb. of pickled pork. Simmer for 3 hours till quite thick. The meat is sliced and eaten with the pea soup or purée.
