Ingredients

  • lbs. of cooked potatoes
  • ¾ lb. of cooked meat
  • 3 ozs. of onions
  • ½ lb. of sour apples, just over ½ pint of vegetable stock or veal stock
  • ozs. of butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Method

Slice the onions and the peeled and cored apples and fry both in butter to a light brown. Slice the cooked meat and potatoes. Put alternate layers of potatoes, meat, apples and onions in a fireproof dish, pour the stock over the whole, dot with pats of butter, and bake to a light brown in a moderate oven.
