Method

For this pudding, line a baking dish with slices of stale cake, peel and slice 6 bananas, put a layer over the cake, then cover with a thin layer of custard, made with 1 pint of milk, 3 eggs and 4 ozs. of sugar. Cover with another layer of cake, then bananas, etc., till all the ingredients are used up, finishing with a covering of custard. Cover with paper, bake for ยฝ an hour, brown slightly and serve cold.
