Bananes en Daube

Bananes en Daube. Cook the peeled bananas to a light brown in butter. Make a syrup with 1 lb. of sugar, a ½ pint of claret and a flavouring of nutmeg. Simmer the bananas in this for about 20 minutes and serve hot.
