This is a dish I invented one day when I had some delicious cold salmon (caught in a haaf-net on the Nith) and some leftover gnocchi and decided to make some fishcakes. I preferred the texture to the usual mash used in fishcakes - I hope you enjoy them, too. And don’t worry, you can use commercial gnocchi for this, which has, helpfully, already been mixed with eggs and flour.
