Such a cheap and comforting dish for an evening by the fire or kitchen sapper with friends. Much is down to the quality of the sausages, but that’s not a problem nowadays with so many butchers making good ones. As someone who has judged the great Yorkshire Pork Pie and Sausage competition three times, I know quite a lot about them! Choose one’s whose skins are well filled (but not over filled or they will burst).
