If you happen to have a fair bit of chocolate in the cupboard and some cream in the fridge – double or whipping – and have a sudden craving, this will deal with it as well as any, and quicker than most. Not sophisticated, but very good and extremely quick. The better the chocolate, the better the result.

Ingredients

  • 200 g good, dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee granules
  • 50

Method

Melt together in a saucepan, over very low heat, the chocolate, instant coffee granules and water. Pour into a bowl and cool in the freezer for 20 minutes, taking out after 10 minutes and stirring well. In another bowl, whip the cream until semi-stiff and fold into the chocolate.
