Crunchy savoury breadsticks to go with that seven o’clock gin (or whatever you drink at seven – I hope you drink something).

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of good, slightly stale, white or granary bread, 2cm thick
  • 2 large cloves of garlic, peeled and finely chopped

Method

Preheat the oven to 375°F/190°C/Gas5.

Cut the crusts off the bread and cut each into 5 or 6 sticks lengthways – about 2cm wide.
