Perhaps the most famous arancini come from Sicily, where they were given the name because they are the same size as a small orange. As they are so nice to eat, rather like a little ball of risotto, arancini have been adopted in all the quick-service bars, where you can have them piping hot at lunchtime. They are ideal for parties or picnics because they can also be eaten cold.
