Another Italian speciality that has emigrated to Italian restaurants all over the world, this can be prepared in minutes, is not cooked and yet has a high degree of sophistication and appeal. The name means ‘pick me up’, and could well be a reference to the number of calories this pudding contains. Whoever invented it must have been in need of quick energy. There are many variations on tiramisu but I prefer this very simple one.
