  • ½ tablespoon bacon fat
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 4 level tablesp

Method

Melt the bacon fat with the water in a pan and sprinkle in oatmeal and salt. Work well together until smooth. Roll out the oatmeal on a board dusted with oatmeal to several cakes the size of a small saucer and very thin. Cook slowly on a pre-heated griddle or heavy frying-pan for about 10 minutes. Remove onto a tea towel in a warm place and leave to harden. Serve quickly with grilled gammon ste
