  • 9 oz. puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

Roll out pastry to a 9 in. square, about ¼ in. thick, and trim edges. Place on a baking-tray. Mark a square 1½ in. from edge and cut half-way through pastry. Glaze with beaten egg. Bake at 450°F. (Gas Mark 8) for 20 minutes.
