Make the pawns with cubes of cheese, an olive and coloured cocktail onion. The castles sport a brightly coloured flag on a pin. Each side should be identical in structure but differently coloured. In ‘Cooking Price-Wise’, one side was made of Stilton, the other Double Gloucester.

Serve on cheese board.
