  • 1 (396-g/14-oz) can peeled tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely c

Method

Simmer all the ingredients together until a syrupy consistency is obtained, then push the sauce through a sieve. If it is liquidised in an electric blender the tomato seeds will still be present but the sauce will taste just as good.
