  • About

This tea is traditionally served in Shushtar by the bride-to-be to the groom’s family after she and her family have accepted a marriage proposal. This subtle way of saying “yes” might be related to the belief that saffron has aphrodisiac qualities.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup/100 g fresh jujubes (Chinese dates) or ½ cup/50

Method

  1. Bring 4 cups/960 ml water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the cardamom, saffron, rose water, and rock candy (if using). Reduce heat to low, cover, and allow to simmer for 15 min
