I had this tasty dish in Urmia, where my host cooked the yogurt, then added the eggs on top. Just before serving, she place the lavash bread on top and turned the pan over onto a plate. She served it with sweet black tea and a fresh herb platter/sabzi khordan. I prefer not to cook the garlicky yogurt.

Ingredients

Yogurt

  • cups/360 g plain yogurt or labneh
  • 2 cloves

Method

  1. For the yogurt: In a small mixing bowl whisk the yogurt, garlic, and salt for 5 minutes to prevent the mixture from curdling.
  2. Prepare 2 plates by spreading a piece of lavash bread on each. Spread some of the yogurt-garlic mixture over each piece of bread.
  3. For the eggs: Heat the oil in a wide skillet over medium-high heat until hot
