I have adapted this advieh and many of the Hamadani recipes in this section from those by Shabnam Shahbazian, a wonderful and generous cook in Hamadan. Besides the seven-spice mix, Hamadanis also have a four-spice advieh made of, cumin, fennel, nigella, and coriander seeds, which they often use to flavor their bread.
