Old-Fashioned Chicken with Pickled Cucumber and a Creamy White Wine Sauce

This dish has a very special place in my heart. It’s the meal that was served every year for my Daddy’s birthday since he was a child, and I have had it 41 years in a row for his birthday, even when we were not together.
