Combine the flour and salt in a mixing bowl and add the shortening. Using a pastry blender, cut in the shortening until the mixture looks like coarse corn meal.
Sprinkle the mixture with water, a little at a time, while tossing and mixing the mixture with a two-pronged fork. When all the flour is lightly moistened, gather the dough into a ball. (The d
