This style of kibbeh, baked in a dish, is popular in Syria and Lebanon. It is easy and practical, and, unlike other ways of making kibbeh, there is no deep frying.

Note that you’ll need to prepare the filling in advance, as it needs to be cold when you assemble the dish. Pistachios can be added to the filling, in addition to the walnuts; you can use olive oil instead of butter, or even decrease the amount of butter or oil if you like. If the circular tray is used, instead of square
