Nadya Kulakovska and the other women regularly cook together in the old Odesan yard in Moldavanka. They pass on the traditions to their children and the friends of their children from the whole area. The varenyky are considered by many to be a national dish: pliable dough rolled by hand, cut into circles, and stuffed with all manner of delicious things, then briefly boiled and eaten with big helpings of sour cream and fried onions.
