Flowerpots make good baking moulds. Wash new clay flowerpots and allow to dry well. Heat the pots on a baking tray for 30 minutes at 220°C/425°F/Gas 7. They will give off a lot of smoke! Allow to cool.

Method

Sieve 450g (1 lb) of the flour, the sugar and the salt into a bowl. (The remaining flour is for sprinkling and kneading.)
Mix the fresh yeast with a little lukewarm milk, then add the remaining liquids.
Work in half the measured flour, sprinkle with a little of the extra flour, then cover the bowl with a damp teatowel and leave in a warm place for 15 mi
